The town centre of Marsala is just 6 kilometers from the estate and can be reached in a short drive: we’re sure you know the city, at least its name, famous all over the world thanks to the fortified wine made with the grapes growing in its surroundings. This is also one of Sicily’s most ancient towns, founded by the Phoenicians and originally named Lilibeum.
You can witness the ancient history of this region coming to life taking a trip to Mothia, one of the four isle of the Stagnone Nature Reserve, where you’ll find and old Phoenician fortress. The most attractive thing about this region of Sicily is its coastline, featuring long beaches of golden sand, like Signorino beach to mention one, and the breathtaking landscape of Marsala’s windmills and saltpans, part as well of the Stagnone reserve and home to elegant pink flamingos.
The area is also well known by surfers and kite-surfers: the Stagnone hosted the Kite Surf World Championship in 2013 and it’s always been one of the favourite destinations in Sicily for surf lovers.
